Looks as if the Bears might be getting themsleves an insurance policy for new feature back Cedric Benson. NFL Network is reporting that former Titans back Chris Brown has an offer on the table from the Bears and Titans, and reports say tha Brown is seriously contemplating the offer from Chicago. The Titans mandatory minicamp kicks off on Tuesday, the day that the network says that Brown is supposed to make his decision by. Brown is from the Chicago area, which hopefully will play a part in his decision.
The Bears need a back to make sure to push Benson. Thomas Jones is gone, and Benson might start to relax a bit, and Brown is a back that can push Benson to being a great back. Not that Brown is likely to come in and knock the socks off the coaches and run for 1,000 yards, but he would help this situation and maybe give Benson a run for his money for some playing time.
