Berrian Scores for the Bears

The Bears opened the second half of the season with a win yesterday, marked by the return of Rex Grossman at quarterback.  The Bears scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to beat the Raiders 17-6 in Oakland.  Starting quarterback Brian Griese left the game in the second quarter with a shoulder injury.  Grossman came in and fumbled his first snap from center Olin Kreutz.  The game remained a 3-3 tie from the second quarter until just four minutes were left in the fourth, when the Raiders kicked a field goal.  The Bears then rallied with a 59-yard touchdown pass from Grossman to Bernard Berrian, giving Chicago a 10-6 lead with 3:11 remaining.  A three-yard touchdown run by Cedric Benson cemented the win with 1:35 to play.  Grossman was 7-for-14 for 142 yards passing with a touchdown and no interceptions.  Griese was 10-of-14 for 97 yards before getting hurt.  The Bears are now 4-and-5 and will play Seattle next this coming Sunday.
