Benson Out For Season

Running back Cedric Benson will miss the remainder of the season with a left ankle injury that will require surgery.  Benson hurt the ankle early in the second quarter of Sunday’s dramatic 37-34 overtime win against Denver.  The  injury came at the end of a 21-yard run, as Benson was tackled by Denver safety Hamza Abdullah.  Benson remained on the field for several minutes and was eventually carted off.  Adrian Peterson is  expected to take over the starting spot, with rookie Garrett Wolfe as backup.
