The Bears’ already dim playoff hopes took a serious hit yesterday as the New York Giants rallied for a 21-16 victory at windy Soldier Field. Rex Grossman connected with Desmond Clark on a one-yard touchdown pass on the Bears’ first possession of the game to give the Bears a lead they would not relinquish until until New York scored a touchdown with 93 seconds remaining. Grossman finished the afternoon completing 25-of-46 passes for 296 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. Adrian Peterson was the leading receiver with seven catches for 82 yards. He also rushed 22 times for 67 yards. Robbie Gould was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals. The Bears, who slipped into last place in the division with the defeat, travel to play the Redskins on Thursday.
