Will the Bears Take a Longer Look at Keeping Briggs?

Now that linebacker Brian Urlacher has gone under the knife, one has to wonder if theBriggs Bears are going to make more of an effort to keep free agent to be Lance Briggs.  Today’s Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that the Bears may take more of a look at bringing Briggs back even with the fact that Urlacher is supposed to be ready to go for the 2008 season.  Briggs in 2007 played in 14 games, making 84 solo tackles and 103 overall.  He also had two sacks and two forced fumbles.  Briggs was a third round draft choice by the Bears in 2003, but as of now it looks as if he will take a long look elsewhere once free agency starts, and that only a HUGE deal will keep him in Chicago.
