On the other hand, Benson was a “lazy” out of shape RB right out the gate, who never really was that tough, physical, strong, or fast enough to play the part of a starting back, as a lead go-to #1 guy on offense carrying the football. I mean, what did he bring to the table and what was his strengths? Only thing he was consistent at was watching the game on the sidelines after 1 major injury after another. He heldout forever and never got the respect of his teammates. He started off on the wrong foot big-time and never displayed strong work ethic or a winner-like mentality in the locker room. His character/attitude was just too nonchalant.

Forte is a RB who is durable and will impress right away because he’s balanced and fundamentally sound. I believe he will be able to handle the load and he is a smart runner who has the vision to be an everydown back from what I’ve seen. A Franchise back along the lines of Larry Johnson? It also seems to me he’s the anti-Benson – and that’s what we want at RB. Maybe a more talented and bigger version of Thomas Jones so to say…
