Given its dismal yearlong performance, the Bears’ defense figures to feature several new faces next season. But what about the future of defensive coordinator Bob Babich? “You’ll have to talk to the coach about that,” Babich said after his unit allowed a season-high 455 yards during Sunday’s 31-24 loss to the Texans. “Anytime you lose a game of this importance ? it means something. Once again, as players and coaches, we take this one hard. It’s a big game, we didn’t play well and that’s the bottom line.”

I wish my job was as safe as Babich’s. Or Ron Turner’s, for that matter. And Lovie is good until his contract runs our, because the Bears (read McCaskeys) will never buy anyone out. Hey, that would cost money!
IN MY OPINION BOTH TURNER AND BABICH MUST BE REPLACED WITH HARDCORE OPEN MINDED CO-ORDINATORS. FORGET THE FRIENDSHIPS, LOVIE, IT’S TIME TO GET THE COACHES WHO CAN IMPROVE THE OFFENSE AND ESPECIALLY THE DEFENSE.
WE ALL KNOW IN THE NFL YOU WIN WITH DEFENSE. WHY ARE THE BEARS ALWAY’S AFRAID TO START ROOKIES. ATLANTA AND BALTIMORE ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS WITH ROOKIE QUARTERBACKS. LOVIE, WAKE UP, AND START USING MORE ROOKIES LIKE FORTE.
Are you kidding Lovie doesnt even have a pair of his own to put his own people in place let alone stand up to his staff he hired nor to lead a team . Mark my words if Lovie doesnt make major improvements this off season it doesnt matter what friends he has on the team he will be sent packing then we will be fired and then the team will be re building too. Fire babich and Turner too get some bold people who arent afraid to get the job done. Don’t get me wrong turner is a wise man but having orton as quarterback makes him very limited on what plays he can give him kyle is a game manager not a long term soultion at the postion . Kyle best ball is under 20 yards but had diffuclties even at that earlier this year in the first half of the season. He doesn’t have a deep ball and if he doesnt have a deep ball now he wont have it and thats something that can’t be devolped so it doesnt matter if we got an impact wr or a # 1 wr for that matter if you can’t connect to them then they will get bored plain and simple.
The whole bunch from Angelo down need to go!!
Kyle needs and offensive line and a receiver who can get seperation and catch. EVERY great QB has a great WR. Also a running game in the first half would be nice.
The ineffective Bob Babich must be fired.
Rod Marinelli would be fine as defensive coordinator and assistant head coach. Former Bears Ron Rivers and Les Frazier would also be fine in the job. They both played on the great 1985 Bears team, with Frazier being a starter, The Super Bowl against the Patriots, in which he went down with an injury, was the final game of his NFL playing career.
Can the Bears get a better offensive coordinator than Ron Turner? I doubt it. I’d give Turner at least another year.
Also, I’d seriously consider giving Caleb Hanie a start (or, better yet, two or three starts) in regular season games. Let’s seee what he can do when the chips are down.
rod marinelli will be a great defensive coordintor FIRE SIMPLE MINDED HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH BOb Babich.
