Should the Bears Considering Moving Urlacher for Boldin?

In the world of fantasy football, trades can be made pretty easy. Of course that is not the real world of the NFL, but hey, anyone can dream – right? Today’s Chicago Tribune says that the Bears should move MLB Brian Urlacher to the Cardinals for WR Anquan Boldin. Here is the report from today’s paper:
Though Brian Urlacher may have reached the point where his value to the Bears is higher than it would be in a trade, it can’t hurt to ask whether Urlacher is still untouchable. My sense is that question would not inspire a unanimous answer at Halas Hall.
When Urlacher’s agents broached the idea of trading the Bears’ franchise player last winter, it was a negotiating ploy. But a year later, restarting that tricky conversation could result in making the Bears and Cardinals happy. Trading Urlacher always has been a taboo topic around Chicago. If he were any bigger a part of the city’s sports landscape, he might be sketched into the 2016 Olympic logo.
But even if the Bears won’t say so publicly, there were football people disappointed in Urlacher’s play in 2008. Whether it was age, his aching back or apathy, nobody knows for sure. Something about No. 54 just didn’t look the same. More was expected after he coaxed the Bears into giving him an $18 million contract extension last year. Anquan Boldin would make the Bears’ defense better simply by giving the offense more ways to stay on the field or score.
Angelo says it’s all about the quarterback, but give Kyle Orton a guy like Boldin to throw to and then watch how quickly the complaints about the quarterback subside.

I am for it, I agree that Urlacher was not the same, I think apathy was part of it, he never has liked the scheme but played in spite of it, I think he absolutely hated it under Babich. But, if Lovie and Marinelli can get the old Urlacher back, keep him.

I think the bears should trade Urlacher. They should’ve called his bluff last year. You trade him for Boldin then get Lauranitis in the draft and work on a tackle in the second round. We can get a defensive back through free-agency to either play corner or move Manning to safety, which is likely what the Bears will do. Boldin will open things up for Hester. Olsen will have the break-out year he should of had last year and Forte won’t have to see the eight-man fronts as much.

If you were the Cardinals why would you trade an all-star receiver that isn’t being paid that much for an older middle linebacker who has underachieved the last two years, who has injury concerns, and by the way is owed a lot of money.
yea right…

You seriously want to trade a Great linebacker, and a team leader, for a spoiled brat wide receiver, who throws a hissy fit whenever he feels someone else is getting more balls thrown to them. Chicago is not the place for prima donnas
