Tait Retires After 10 NFL Seasons

The Bears today confirmed that veteran OT John Tait is retiring after 10 seasons in the NFL. Tait joined the Bears in 04 and started at least 13 games in every season in Chicago. He was hobbled with an ankle injury that in the end led him to hang it up instead of trying to play out the final year of a six-year, $33 million contract.
Tait was a first-round draft pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in 1999. He spent five seasons in Kansas City before leaving for Chicago as a free agent.
