St. Clair in the Plans with Tait Gone

With John Tait officially retiring, the Bears have a hole on the O-line, and today’s Tribune reports that the team will probably look at getting back John St. Clair:

The immediate plan is to re-sign John St. Clair, who remains on the market after passing on the Bears’ initial three-year contract offer. St. Clair wants to stay with the Bears and likely would start at right tackle. The Bears signed free-agent lineman Frank Omiyale from Carolina, and Omiyale could challenge Roberto Garza for a starting spot at guard. If St. Clair goes elsewhere, Omiyale could start at tackle. The Bears could pursue Kevin Shaffer, a 29-year-old tackle released by the Cleveland Browns.
