After watching the Bears Pre season game against the Giants, one thing became very clear.  Pisa Tinoisamoa is going to be fantastic for the Bears defense.  He was all over the field on Saturday night, making stops all the way on the opposite side of the field.  He hits hard, plays with intensity, runs to the ball, and gang tackles with other Bears defenders (which they are in grave need of).   I think his addition has been lost in the shuffle of the addition of Jay Cutler and Rod Marinelli, but I believe he will pay dividends for the Bears defense.

I think strong side linebacker has been a weak spot the past couple of years.  The Bears ask their linebackers to do a lot of things, and if they are not solid, an opposing offense will find the weak link and game plan towards it.  Tinoisamoa had 104 tackles and three sacks in 2008, in comparison Nick roach and Hunter Hillenmeyer had a combined 51 Tackles and 1 sack.  Look for this defense to be much improved and Tinoisamoa to be a key factor.  Reports in the off-season were that Brian Urlacher is as healthy as he has been in years, Briggs is still in pro bowl form, add Tinoisamoa and this line-backing corp has the opportunity to be one of the best in the league.

I also see the Defensive line making an impact as well, not just in the pass rush, but I see D lineman making tackles 5-10 yards down-field, that shows guys are playing from whistle to whistle, This is definitely because of Rod Marinelli, and Lovie Smith being involved in the defense.  This is going to be the year where this defense establishes itself again as a strength for this team!
