The Bears confirmed Friday that DT Dusty Dvoracek has a torn right ACL and will miss the 2009 season. Bears head coach Lovie Smith had denied published reports earlier in the week that the fifth-year tackle would be lost for the year, but it turns out Dvoracek has indeed suffered his fourth consecutive season-ending injury.
The Bears’ third-round pick of the 2006 draft out of Oklahoma has played a total of only 13 games in his four-year career, recording 31 tackles and two passes defensed. The team had yet to announce any roster moves to adjust for Dvoracek’s loss.
