Safety Danieal Manning inks his tender

It looks like the Danieal Manning camp has finally come to its senses, as PFT reports that the safety has inked his tender, which will pay him $1.176 million:

Danieal Manning has caved.

In March, agent Russel Hicks said that the Bears safety won’t be attending offseason workouts until he gets a contract worth more than the one-year restricted free agency tender offer of $1.176 million.

A month later, Manning decided to show up for offseason workouts. And now he’s decided to sign the contract that he doesn’t like.

The Bears have announced that safety Danieal Manning has agreed to terms. Though the Bears said that terms weren’t disclosed, the fact that the release specifically states that he has signed his tender offer means that he didn’t get anything other than the one-year, $1.176 million that he was originally offered.

So they didn’t disclose the terms because they didn’t need to. And in this player-team stare down, the team has scored a victory.
