Tommie Harris on benching: “I’m used to it.”

During a media session after Thursday’s practice, Bears tackle Tommie Harris addressed the public for the first time since his appearance in street clothes on Monday night against the Packers.

When asked if he was disappointed in the benching, the Chicago Tribune reported Harris responded:

“I’m used to it,” Harris said.

I wasn’t frustrated that I didn’t play; it’s just that it’s ‘Monday Night Football,’ you know,” Harris said. “It was very disturbing when I found out the news, but what can you do? You have great vets — Lance (Briggs), (Brian) Urlacher — guys talked to me and just told me to be ready when it is my time again.”

The Tribune also reported Harris said he did not want to be traded and he’s not sure if he’ll play Sunday night against the Giants.

Is it just me, or is it looking more and more like Tommie’s destined to join other Bears’ castoffs Cedric Benson and Tank Johnson in the NFL’s rehab clinic affectionately referred to as the Cincinnati Bengals?
