Lovie believes Cutler will play against Panthers

Why risk Jay against 0-4 Carolina?

The man in charge say he’s OK.  He had a concussion.  No big deal, he’s fine.

“It seems like he’s in pretty good shape right now,” Smith said. “There are no visual signs or anything that I can tell. That’s why I try not to be the doctor. I leave it to our other people. But he seems like he’s OK today.”

Jay Cutler’s tough, no concussion’s going to keep him down.  The offensive line, we’ll protect next week, no doubts.

“Believe it or not I was at the game also,” Smith said as the chatter of sacks was persistently forwarded to his attention in his press conference on Monday. “All right. And we’re working to correct that. It happened one time. It’s no more than that. We’ll correct the things that we can of course and we have some different options to go with and we’ll play better this week.”

Sit him, why risk our franchise signal caller?  It’s the Panthers.  Good week to get the run game started.  Be smart Lovie.

“We played four games and we lost one,” Smith said. “Let’s not panic around here, all right? The reality is we’re 3-1 with this group. Our offense has done a lot of good things. Last night, we didn’t get it done. We didn’t get it done. No more than that.”

Mr. Optimistic.

“It has nothing to do with Jay,” center Olin Kreutz said. “We’ve got to block people and give him time to throw the ball. We are responsible when he gets hit.”

At least someone’s holding their own play accountable.

“As I said, when we thought something was going on was after that last sack that he took right before the half,” Smith said. “That’s when he showed the symptoms of a concussion, and we did something about it.”

The Bears need to tell Lovie this is serious stuff.  Bring on Collins or Hanie for Sunday.  12 more games left, 3-1 in first place, Jay can take a game off for precautionary measures.
