Roach To Replace Injured Tinoisamoa At LB

Roach Started 15 Of 16 Games Last Season

“It’s just another chance to get out and play some defense, It’s always fun to play defense.”

-Nick Roach

After missing all but two contests last year, LB Pisa Tinoisamoa will be sidelined for the first time tonight due to a sore knee.  With Pisa ruled out, this means Nick Roach will step in at his position on the strong side against Miami.  Roach had a team-high 10 tackles for loss a year ago.

More News: With four tackles against the Dolphins, Brian Urlacher will pass Mike Singletary atop the team’s record for tackles.

Bears Top 5 Defensive Rankings:

  • #1 in Lowest Third Down Conversion percentage allowed
  • #2 in Point Against at 16.2 PPG
  • #1 in Takeaways with 35
  • #1 in INT with 14
  • #2 in Forced Fumbles with 21
  • #2 Against the Run at 82.3 YPG
  • #4 Overall in Yards Allowed at 304 YPG

“We’re right where we want to be, momentum’s building; we just have to keep this thing going.”

Bears sack leader Israel Idonije, who has a total of 5.

Anyone doubt the Cover 2 defense anymore?  The “bend, but don’t break” strategy is working.  Which makes you ponder: As long as the offense doesn’t dismantle and beat themselves, the Bears have as good of a chance as any squad to represent the NFC come February in Dallas.
