Bears Extend the Contract of Mike Tice for Two Years

Two days after the Bears told Mike Tice he would not receive permission to interview with the Titans, the team has extended the contract of its offensive line coach according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.

The Titans wanted to meet with Tice about becoming their offensive coordinator, a position that eventually went to Chris Palmer. It was a rare move for the Bears to block Tice from the opportunity to advance, and the club made up for it by acting quickly to extend him for one season through 2012.

They had to do this. Now if he can get a few qauality lineman, this offense will really be dangerous. Tice is worth every penny. The only other offensive piece missing is a tough, over the middle(a go get it WR- as Jay says) receiver.
