Bears Look Like They Could Land in the Hall of Fame Game

A report says that it looks like the Bears may find themselves playing in Canton in August in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game.

Assuming there is a preseason in 2011, the Bears may be a candidate to play the year’s first game, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The newspaper reports that there is “buzz in NFL circles right now that the Chicago Bears will be one of the two teams to kick off the season in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game to be played Aug. 7 at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio.” Richard Dent, a former Bear, is one of seven people being inducted into the Hall’s Class of 2011 that weekend, so there would likely be a large group of fans coming from Chicago already.

The Bears last played in the Hall of Fame Game in 2005. Their opponent would likely be an AFC team that is not on Chicago’s regular season schedule. The Bears are slated to play the AFC West in 2011.
