NBA’s Dwayne Wade Pulling For The Bears To Sign Plaxico Burress

The Miami Heat are in the NBA Finals, and one guy that is speaking out about his favorite NFL team is Dwayne Wade -who is a Chicago native and huge Bears fan. Wade spoke out recently, stating that the Bears should do what they can to ink just released from prison WR Plaxico Burress, who could have a big impact on the team.

Dwyane Wade might have chosen to remain with the Miami Heat over his hometown Chicago Bulls when he was a free agent last summer, but he’s still a Bears fan. And with former New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress being released from prison on Monday, Wade tweeted what many Bears fans are thinking. “1st I’m happy for Plaxico Burress that he can b reunite with his love 1s that I’m sure he missed more than football .. but as a Bears fan i would love to c him in a Bears uniform,” Wade tweeted on Monday. Burress, who will be 34 in August, has not played football since late November in 2008 when a handgun that was tucked in his sweatpants slipped from his waistband and went off as he tried to grab the gun while in a New York City nightclub. Burress shot himself in the thigh. Nearly a year later, he entered prison to serve his sentence in September of 2009. Burress, who was released about three months early for good behavior, will become a free agent once the lockout ends and free agency begins. The lack of a No. 1 receiver has been a perceived weakness of the Bears’ for a long time.
