Bears Rookie Gabe Carimi To Begin Camp At Left Tackle

Carimi Is Battling J’Marcus Webb

Gabe Carimi vs. J’Marcus Webb.

The Bears starting left tackle spot has yet to be decided, however, the team’s first round draft pick is expected to start on the left side to initiate training camp on Saturday.

Webb, who started 12 games at right tackle in 2010, is still a bit raw, and even more of a project than the “NFL-ready” labeled product from Wisconsin.

Personally, I rather see Carimi receive first-team reps at left tackle because he is more swifter of foot than Webb, who got beat off the snap numerous times last season.

Offensive line shuffle: With Olin Kreutz still unsigned, Roberto Garza will fill in for him at center.  Lance Louis will likely line up at right guard.
