Is He A Bear Or Not?

One thing’s for sure, the Bears love to add defensive linemen.

Taking a low-risk, high-reward guy like Vernon Gholston – it’s apparent the club enjoys reloading the front four.

According to an ESPN report, the team signed Saints free agent defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove to Rod Marinelli’s wrecking crew.

However, per the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the deal is “premature”, as the Bears and Hargrove are “still in talks.”

The seven-year pro from Georgia Tech is a versatile lineman, a player the Saints’ community and fan base hold in high regard because of his inspiring story.

At 6-foot-3, 272-pounds, the Brooklyn native was drafted in the third round of 2004 by the Rams.

In 2007, he was suspended for the first four games of the NFL season.

A year later, the lineman was banned for the entire season, after failing another drug test.

Hargrove returned to football in ’09, joining the only team that gave him a chance – the Saints.

During the Saints’ Super Bowl run, Hargrove overcame all odds; logging five sacks and five tackles for loss.

It’s all about taking a chance this free agency for the Bears.  Why stop now?
