Sources: Bears Offer Matt Forte $15M Guaranteed

Forte Scored Nine Touchdowns In ’10

Michael C. Wright of ESPNChicago reports the Bears have extended a contract proposal to running back Matt Forte that would call for the Tulane product earning $15 million in guaranteed cash, according to multiple sources.

In accordance to the latest statements produced by general manager Jerry Angelo, in hand with the regular season just less than two weeks away, it seems like talks are probably coming to a halt whether or not Forte says yes to a new pact.  The total amount and duration of the contract were undisclosed.

According to league whispers, the Bears started things by offering the six-year contract worth $32 million ($10 million guaranteed) signed by Chiefs standout runner Jamaal Charles; setting it as the foundation for a fresh Forte extension.

With Lance Briggs already voicing out for more paper, the Bears find themselves in a tough predicament.
