Bears Sign FB Clutts To Practice Squad

The Bears have decided to snag fullback Tyler Clutts off the practice squad of the Cleveland Browns.  The 6-foot-2, 260-pound fullback entered the NFL last season with the Browns after seeing time with three other professional football leagues.  Clutts played for Sacramento in the UFL in 2010, Utah in the AFL in 2010 and for Edmonton in the CFL in 2008 and 2009.

He also was a defensive end in college at Fresno State from ‘2004-07; registering 23.5 sacks.

Former Brown turned Bear: It’s been well-documented that the Browns have been good to the Bears, as defensive end Israel Idonije spent the start 2003 season on the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad prior to his release in September.  Thereafter, Israel was signed to the Bears’ practice squad for the final six weeks of the season.  Major coup.

Notes: Cornerback Joshua Moore, a fifth-round draft pick in 2010, cleared waivers.  Clearly, it would not be stunning if the Bears re-sign him to their practice squad – seeing they are lacking corners.  The club could wait until next week to add the Kansas State product.
