Source: Bears Rookie OT Carimi has a dislocated right knee

Bears first-round draft pick offensive tackle Gabe Carimi has a dislocated right knee, according to a source close to the matter.

The former Badger suffered the injury with 32 seconds left in the second quarter of Sunday’s 30-13 loss to the Saints in the Big Easy.  He did not return as Frank Omiyale replaced him at right tackle.

Carimi is the second starter the Bears have lost along Mike Tice’s offensive line. Starting right guard Lance Louis suffered an ankle injury in the first half of the club’s victory last week over the Falcons.

whats the timetable on a dislocated knee? Wooten got back pretty quickly with ligament damage. Lance and Carimi are needed back asap. Together they are a dynamic run block duo, and were also clicking in pass protect. Problem versus Saints was a lot of play calling and expecting TE to pick up blitz. I guess Cutler had issue with his throat getting stepped on so his calls were not loud enough. Omiyale is good for at least 2 false starts anyhow but Im sure that didnt help.

Need better play calling against Pack this week. C’mon Martz? With two subs in on the line wouldn’t it be natural to add in some run plays. Run and screen pass is our bread and butter. I don’t understand what we were doing vs Saints. Chris Harris return is a big deal too. Dude actually knows whats going on out there. Other Safeties more reactionary when Chris is more ahead of the play.

Looking forward to fixing the probs and getting Barber, Harris, Lance, Carimi and Wooten back asap. Urlacher played well with passing of his mom.
