Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is making progress, but will it be a speedy enough recovery to return in time for this season?
Cutler told “The Waddle & Silvy Show” on WMVP-AM 1000, “I think it was more pushing than throwing; it was more of a shot put in my hand really than anything. I put the ball in there a little bit and we’ll see how it feels this week and try to get better and better each day.”
The Bears signal caller also added, “It’s kind of like I have to relearn it. (I had) a little bit of shooting pain. So going forward these next few weeks we just have to figure out, once all the swelling’s gone, whether or not I can manage with these pins in or whether we’ll have to pull ’em.
Asked of the chances on whether or not he will play against Green Bay on Christmas night, he said: “I’d say outside. I wouldn’t say it’s good or definite or even a real possibility, but there’s always a chance.”
