Cutler to Have Pins Removed; But Not Likely to Play

Bears coach Lovie Smith confirmed Jay Cutler will have pins removed from his right thumb Tuesday, but it’s highly unlikely the quarterback will return to play in Sunday’s season finale at Minnesota according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.

In fact, Smith said he is looking forward to seeing Josh McCown play again after the 32-year-old journeyman helped spark the Bears to a season-high 441 yards of offense in Sunday’s 35-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

McCown looked pretty good for only being around a few weeks. Not great but good. I wouldnt mind offering him a deal and letting hanie walk for next year. Need vet backup with developmental which i guess would be enderle. In hanies starts havent seen much to think he would take next step. He has been around a few years, its over. Khalil bell looked great. I like our rb corps for next couple years. I already thinking about draft. I think we need to snag a top Wr with the first rnd pick unless stud cb. Roy blows, Knox and Bennett good but neither are number 1’s, Hester I just like having on the field, Dane possession guy. We need an aj green, Julio jones type an instant difference maker. Cb and lb top priority too. Roach and Jennings not starter material, peanut urlacher and Briggs getting older. I wish we went after Tulloch and jonathon Joseph earlier this year. Both guys are making difference this year and would have been nice upgrades. Especially JJ in Houston. I think those 3 positions need to be the first 3 addressed. I really would like to finally see the Wr as a high pick and stop ignoring it. Safety and lineman help would be nice too. I like conte but major is sketchy/oft-injured, steltz and meriweather nope. I thought we would have more sacks this year? Peppers Melton I like. Peae and wooton will develop, toeina adams run jammers, idonije kinda disappointing we would be elite pass rush if we could put another stud de opposite peppers, O-line I thought played well until injuries took out two of our 1st rnd picks. So depth there but I kinda like the group. Just keep omiyale off the field. Tough year. I still think we gonna feel stupid for not grabbing mcnabb when we had chance early on. We would have won a game or two and still be in playoffs and talking about cutler and forte returning soon. Oh well.
