The Bears announced that they will interview four candidates for their vacant general manager position.
The four candidates the team has identified are Kansas City Chiefs Director of College Scouting Phil Emery, New England Patriots Director of Pro Personnel Jason Licht, San Diego Chargers Director of Player Personnel Jimmy Raye and New York Giants Director of College Scouting Marc Ross.
Interim general manager Tim Ruskell is also a candidate.
Emery worked in the Bears’ scouting department for seven seasons before spending six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. Emery has worked for the Chiefs for the last three seasons. Over the last 16 seasons, Licht has working with the Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals personnel and scouting departments.
Raye has worked in the Chargers scouting and personnel departments since 1996. Ross has been with the Giants for the last five seasons after spending three seasons in the Buffalo Bills’ scouting department. Ross previously spent seven seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, including four seasons as their college scouting director.
In 2010, Ross interviewed for the Ruskell’s old job with the Seattle Seahawks that ultimately went to John Schneider.
The Bears have not ruled out additional candidates.
