Forte Feels Deal Between He and Bears Will Get Done

The news between running back Matt Forte and the Bears appears good. The back is showing optimism that he and the team will be able to get a deal done before Monday, making sure that he will get a deal before the deadline for franchised players.

Matt Forte once again has expressed optimism that he and the Bears will come to an agreement on a long-term deal before Monday’s looming deadline for players subjected to the one-year franchise tag that is worth $7.74 million to him. “I’m a very optimistic guy,” Forte said Friday in an interview with ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “So going into this weekend, I’m very optimistic that it will get done … saying my prayers and everything.” Though his outlook is positive, neither the Bears nor his agent, Adisa Bakari, have acknowledged the sides are in deep negotiations. Forte has said previously that he didn’t believe the Bears valued him as an elite back with 6,218-career all-purpose yards in 60 games. And he felt “disrespected” when the team signed veteran running back Michael Bush to a four-year, $14 million contract, $7 million of it guaranteed.

  1. Shane "the drunk" Fling says:

Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man. Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets.

Photo is perfect. Bear down! This year will be better. This year will be great. I guess anyone who grew up waking up in the morning before school watching the bozo show when the kid never wins the grand prize game. Coming home to watch the cubs lose and then watching the bears lose every week. The 90’s sucked. Football season is here!!! Why not this year. Can’t get any worse? Plus just got a bears onesie for my newborn. Bears fans born everyday. Keep up your spirits. And I’ll drink mine!!! BEAR DOWN CHICAGO BEARS!!!
