Bears Make Roster Cuts; Let Go QB McCown and WR Davis

Friday the Bears made their roster moves to get to 53, deciding to go with two quarterbacks instead of three, so they let Josh McCown go.

He was the big surprise of the cuts, the other being receiver Rashied Davis. 16 players were waived, including running back Armando Allen.

Defensive tackle Nate Collins was placed on the reserved/suspended list after the NFL suspended him in July for the season opener against Indianapolis for violating the substance abuse program.

The Bears also traded fullback Tyler Clutts to Houston for cornerback Sherrick McManis on Friday.
