Trestman Wants Cutler To Follow Doctor’s Orders And Sit Four Weeks

Marc Trestman wants quarterback Jay Cutler to follow the prescribed four-week timeline for recovery from his torn left groin muscle, Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The day after Cutler was injured on Oct. 20, the Bears announced Cutler would miss at least four weeks and then would be evaluated on a weekly basis. However, Cutler told Trestman he would be back sooner than that, ESPN reported.

Receiver Brandon Marshall, during a TV appearance last week, predicted a two-week absence.

“I think he’s trying to get better as quickly as he can,” Trestman said after Monday’s practice, which Cutler watched. “I don’t know that he’s trying to push it. He wants to get back as soon as he can. That’s all I can really say, but I think we’ve got to stay in line with what the doctors have said, and if it’s better than that, we certainly would be happy about that.”
