Super Bowl XLVIII Is Set – My Money Is On Seattle

So after mini-camps, the draft, training camp, preseason football, and 16 Bears regular season games that wound up showing that they were just short of a playoff spot, we know know who will play for the sports biggest prize on February 2nd.

The Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks.

The two number one seeds do what they almost never do, and that’s make it out of the round of 12 in the National Football League.

If your someone that likes to play the odds, play the fact that not both #1 seeds will go head to head in the Super Bowl.

It hasn’t happened since the 2009 season when the Saints played the Colts, which shows why many people were betting it to happen again this season.

But this year, it did happen, with a dominating effort from Denver against the Patriots, and a frantic stop at the end by the Seahawks to hold off the 49ers in the NFC Title Game.

While it will be a long two weeks before the biggest game, and there will be plenty of hype, there’s a couple of things to look for if your a betting man for the Super Bowl – and that’s expect the unexpected.

Bottom line, if you’re new to betting, you might want to read up on the rules to bet on 2014 Super Bowl before placing that bet

While everyone will have heavy money on Peyton Manning as the MVP, don’t forget defensive players that could wind up making the games biggest play – like Seahawks outspoken CB Richard Sherman or Denver veteran CB Champ Baily.

Also remember that high scoring teams don’t always equal high scoring games. The game would easily appear to be an ‘over’ game, with an opening line of 48, but Seattle has a very good defense, and the Broncos D stepped up to hold down San Diego and New England the last two weeks.

Finally, you can take one thing to the bank – don’t play with your heart. As a Bears fan I can’t stand the Seahawks, but part of me already thinks they are going to win this.

Somehow, someway.

Which means if I am smart, I am going to go against my Seahawks hating heart and put money on them.

At least that’s how I feel today.

I still have plenty of time to study the game and change my mind, but if there’s one thing that’s a for sure – the next two weeks will be LONG indeed until kickoff Sunday, February 2nd.
