The Bears and Patriots have come to a deal, as Chicago is shipping tight end Martellus Bennett to New England for a fourth-round draft pick.
In addition to the tight end, the Bears are also giving New England a sixth-round draft choice.
The 29-year-old tight end last season had 53 catches for 439 yards and three touchdowns. He had played four years with the Cowboys and one with the Giants before coming to the Bears in 2013.
Bennett is signed through the 2016 season and is due to earn a base salary of $5.085 million.
His best season was 2014, when he made the Pro Bowl after catching 90 passes for 916 yards and six touchdowns.
