Bears Tickets Most Expensive on Secondary Market for 2013

The Chicago Bears are undergoing an interesting transition this season as their legendary figurehead, Brian Urlacher, is now gone and head coach Lovie Smith – who roamed the Chicago sidelines for the past decade – has been replaced by Marc Trestman.  The only constant for Bears fans this year is the amount of money it takes to attend a game at Soldier Field.

At $438.45, Bears tickets are the most expensive in the NFL for the 2013 season.  No ticket is below $160 for any of their regular season games and the cheapest average ticket price for one particular game is $392 against Baltimore on November 17th.  Compared to last year’s ticket prices, the 2013 average is 19.73% higher.

What’s interesting is the relatively small disparity between the priciest and cheapest games for the Bears.  While many teams have north of $100 difference between the lowest get-in price to a game and the highest get-in price, Chicago only has a $35 difference.  So, while opponent generally tends to play a large role for ticket prices on the secondary market, Chicago fans do not seem to care who plays their beloved Bears, so long as they get a seat into Soldier Field.

That being said, the Bears also have a schedule full of legendary franchises.  NFC East stalwarts the New York and Dallas visit this year, along with recent Super Bowl winners New Orleans and Baltimore.  Throw in rival Green Bay, and Chicago may have the most exciting – and undoubtedly difficult – home schedule of any NFL team.
